RESISTIVITY AND RESERVES

(limited porosity data available for area of interest)

bar.gif (1863 bytes)

Preanalysis data preparation

  • Input of formation tops and bottoms
  • Merging of SWC or Conventional Core with logs

Clay volume and Porosity calculation

  • Minimum Vshale calculations from GR, SP, and R and R SQ
  • Determining Phi Maximum for each zone
  1. Generate Frequency distribution Plots of Core data
  2. Calculate density/neutron cross-plot porosity
  3. Utilization of any other porosity data

Model Comparison to standard interpretation techniques
(Pilot Study)

  • Comparison of GNP HPV, Sw, and Phi to standard calculations of HFT, Sw, and Phi on wells with porosity data

Sand Quality Computation (Pilot study)

  • Determine Rw from RWA, Pickett Plots or other sources
  • Input of Client defined models/equations
  • Determination of Sw irreducible through Cores and standard Archie calculations where porosity available
  • Selection of Conductivity Clean and Conductivity hard shale values

Final calculations

  • Calculate HPV(Hydrocarbon Pore Volume), total Phi, total Sw
  • Diagnostic log presentation of Vshale, PHI total, Sw. Core K, PHI, and saturation values will be plotted on the log when available
  • Annotate the log with production, test, and geologic information as defined by the customer

Summation reports

  • Spreadsheet presentation includes for each zone
  1. Weight averaged porosity and Sw
  2. Gross, Net and Pay Sand counts
  3. Cumulative Hydrocarbon feet
  • Pick cutoffs for Vshale, Sw, and PHIE
  • Summations by well and zone
  • Final log presentation
  • Output data in Customer defined media. (i.e. Diskette, CD Rom,etc.)
